Dr. Christian Morrison, a native of the remote northern Idaho backwoods, was homeschooled during his upbringing. After completing his LDS Mission in Las Vegas, Nevada, he returned to the city to earn his Bachelor of Sciences degree with a focus on Microbiology from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Subsequently, he pursued his Doctorate in Podiatric Medicine and Surgery at the California School of Podiatric Medicine at Samuel Merritt University in California. While he cherished his time in California, he was thrilled to relocate to his beloved state, Texas.
Dr. Asif Khan was raised in the metro Detroit area, and earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan, Dearborn. He then went on to earn his doctorate in podiatric medicine and surgery from California School of Podiatric Medicine at Samuel Merritt University in Oakland, CA.
Dr. Khan returned to Michigan to complete his residency in Podiatric Medicine and Surgery at Beaumont Health, where he served as Chief Resident his final year of training. He then went on to complete a prestigious fellowship at Beaumont Health in Diabetic Limb Salvage and Wound Care.
Dr. Khan is Board Certified by the American Board of Podiatric Medicine (ABPM). He also holds the Certificate of Added Qualification in Amputation Prevention and Wound Care issued by the ABPM. Dr. Khan's research has been published in multiple medical journals.
In his free time, Dr. Khan enjoys spending time with his wife and son. He loves calling Texas home and serving the greater Dallas community.
Book your visit online or call us at (972) 643-8242 if you have questions about PRP or your heel pain.
Our calendar is kept flexible on purpose, which means new patients can often come in right away, sometimes the same day they call about their heel pain.
At your visit our board-certified specialists examine your foot, confirm what is causing your heel pain, and tell you honestly whether PRP or another option is the right next step for you.
Please note: what you qualify for depends on your condition and your insurance, and we will confirm the specifics with you when we reach out. Appointment availability can vary as well.
If you are weighing PRP for heel pain, you probably have a few things you want cleared up first. Here are the answers we give most often.
For most people, no referral is required to come in. The quickest path is to phone us or send an appointment request, and we will walk you through what happens next once we understand your condition and your coverage.
In most cases we can see you within a day or two, and we keep room for people whose heel pain has already dragged on. If standing or walking hurts, reach out now and we will get you in as fast as we can.
Coverage depends on your plan and the specific treatment, and PRP for plantar fasciitis is frequently paid out of pocket rather than billed to insurance. Before you commit to anything, reach out and we will verify your benefits and explain your options so the cost is clear up front. Most major plans are accepted, including Medicare.
Of course. Give the office a call and we will talk through whatever is on your mind, or bring your questions to your visit and ask one of our specialists directly before you decide on any treatment. Outside office hours, send the Ask A Question form and we will get back to you.
PRP for plantar fasciitis is a regenerative injection that uses a small amount of your own blood, concentrated to increase its platelets, placed into the plantar fascia at the heel to support the body’s repair of the tissue. At Lonestar Podiatry & Wound Care it is offered as one option within a treatment plan, most often for chronic heel pain that has not improved with the usual first steps such as rest, stretching, supportive footwear, custom orthotics, or shockwave therapy. Because it works by supporting tissue repair rather than only easing inflammation, it is considered differently from a cortisone injection, and it is not the right choice for everyone. Our board-certified foot and ankle specialists, Dr. Christian Morrison and Dr. Asif Khan, examine your foot, confirm what is causing your heel pain, and tell you honestly whether PRP, another in-office option, or a conservative plan is the better next step for you. The right approach is decided at your visit, and we do not promise a specific result. If plantar fasciitis has kept you off your feet and you want to know whether PRP is a sensible option in your case, the next step is a straightforward evaluation with a specialist.
If you are looking for PRP for plantar fasciitis in Plano, our office at 412 Village Dr in Plano offers this regenerative injection option as part of comprehensive foot and ankle care. We treat patients from Plano, Murphy, Rowlett, Rockwall, Wylie, Sachse, and Allen, along with the surrounding Collin County and east Dallas communities, so you can see a specialist close to home without driving into central Dallas. Same-day and next-day appointments are often available, which matters when heel pain has already kept you waiting too long. Most major insurance plans are accepted, including Medicare, and because PRP for a condition like plantar fasciitis is often a self-pay option, our team verifies your benefits and explains your options clearly before you decide anything. Care is available in English and Spanish. Your plantar fasciitis is evaluated by board-certified foot and ankle specialists who confirm the diagnosis and recommend the option that fits your situation. To find out whether PRP is right for your heel pain, call (972) 643-8242 or schedule online with our Plano team.
