Subsequently, he pursued his Doctorate in Podiatric Medicine and Surgery at the California School of Podiatric Medicine at Samuel Merritt University in California. Two ways in: the front office at (972) 643-8242, where you can ask questions first, or the online scheduler, where you pick the time yourself.
If your heel has hurt for weeks already, you should not have to wait weeks more. A same-day or next-day opening is often available for new patients.
After examining your heel, your podiatrist shares what seems to be behind the pain and reviews which treatments suit you, from custom orthotics to shockwave or PRP.
*** Each day’s schedule is different, so the wait to be seen changes too. Not every option suits every heel or every plan. Our staff can go over yours with you.
Four things patients usually want settled first.
In most cases, no. A few insurance plans want one. Naming your plan as you book lets the front desk point out what yours requires.
Same-day and next-day appointments often available. Sudden pain, or pain that keeps you off the foot, is worth mentioning when you book. With that detail, the office can aim for the first open slot that works for you. A heel sore in someone with diabetes is a reason to phone the same day instead of waiting.
Most major insurance accepted, including Medicare. We will verify your benefits and explain your options. Shockwave and PRP are not treated alike by every plan. Whether yours covers either is checked against your own policy.
Yes. Send your heel question through the Ask A Question form, day or night. Our staff reads it and then gets back to you. If you prefer to talk by phone, call the office. Someone there can discuss it with you and describe what a first appointment looks like.
For heel pain, treatment at Lonestar Podiatry & Wound Care in Rockwall begins with a podiatrist’s exam of your foot, and your plan is built from what that exam finds. Your heel can be examined by Dr. Christian Morrison or Dr. Asif Khan. Both are board-certified by the American Board of Podiatric Medicine and hold its Certificate of Added Qualification in Amputation Prevention and Wound Care, which is relevant when heel pain in a patient with diabetes comes with a sore.
Shockwave therapy is one of the in-office treatments Lonestar Podiatry & Wound Care offers for heel pain. Your podiatrist may also recommend custom orthotics with a gait analysis of how you walk, or PRP injections as a regenerative option when they suit your case. For pain and inflammation, we use MLS laser treatment.
Lonestar Podiatry & Wound Care treats heel pain at its Rockwall office at 6800 Heritage Parkway, Suite 104, also known as the Lake Pointe clinic. Patients from Rockwall, Rowlett, Royse City, Garland, and Mesquite can see a foot and ankle specialist there without driving into central Dallas. A second office at 412 Village Drive, Suite 300, in Plano serves the Plano and Murphy side.
To book a heel pain visit at either office, call (972) 643-8242 or schedule online. Care is available in Spanish as well as English, from the front desk through the exam. If weeks of stretching, new shoes, or store-bought inserts have not settled your heel, that is a good reason to have a podiatrist look at it.
