Dr. Christian Morrison, a native of the remote northern Idaho backwoods, was homeschooled during his upbringing. After completing his LDS Mission in Las Vegas, Nevada, he returned to the city to earn his Bachelor of Sciences degree with a focus on Microbiology from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Subsequently, he pursued his Doctorate in Podiatric Medicine and Surgery at the California School of Podiatric Medicine at Samuel Merritt University in California. While he cherished his time in California, he was thrilled to relocate to his beloved state, Texas.
Dr. Asif Khan was raised in the metro Detroit area, and earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan, Dearborn. He then went on to earn his doctorate in podiatric medicine and surgery from California School of Podiatric Medicine at Samuel Merritt University in Oakland, CA.
Dr. Khan returned to Michigan to complete his residency in Podiatric Medicine and Surgery at Beaumont Health, where he served as Chief Resident his final year of training. He then went on to complete a prestigious fellowship at Beaumont Health in Diabetic Limb Salvage and Wound Care.
Dr. Khan is Board Certified by the American Board of Podiatric Medicine (ABPM). He also holds the Certificate of Added Qualification in Amputation Prevention and Wound Care issued by the ABPM. Dr. Khan's research has been published in multiple medical journals.
In his free time, Dr. Khan enjoys spending time with his wife and son. He loves calling Texas home and serving the greater Dallas community.
Pick a time online, or call and tell us where your heel hurts and how long it has been bothering you.
Say how much your heel is limiting you, and whoever schedules you will look for the soonest time that fits.
Your podiatrist examines your foot, explains what is causing the pain, and walks you through the treatment options that fit your case.
Openings shift from week to week, and no treatment listed here is guaranteed before your exam: your diagnosis and your insurance set what you can receive, and the office will explain it when they contact you.
If your heel has been hurting for a while, you probably have a few questions before you book. Here are the ones we hear most often.
Usually, yes: a referral is not required for most patients. If your plan has its own rules, the front desk will check them when you reach out and tell you what to do next.
Same-day and next-day appointments often available. If the pain is sharp, getting worse, or changing the way you walk, call us and we will look for the earliest time we can offer.
Most major insurance accepted, including Medicare. We will verify your benefits and explain your options. Coverage for specific treatments varies, and we will tell you what applies to your plan.
During business hours, the front desk can talk it through with you on the phone. The Ask A Question form works any time of day, and someone from our office will follow up with you.
Sharp heel pain with your first steps in the morning is a common sign of plantar fasciitis, irritation where the thick band under your foot attaches to the heel. Achilles tendonitis, heel spurs, arthritis, sports injuries, and irritated nerves can cause heel pain too, so treatment starts with finding the actual cause. Dr. Christian Morrison and Dr. Asif Khan are board-certified by the American Board of Podiatric Medicine. They examine where it hurts and how you walk, and certified X-ray technicians take X-rays right in the office when the exam calls for them.
At Lonestar Podiatry & Wound Care, the plan follows what the exam finds and can include conservative therapy, custom orthotics, and gait analysis. When heel pain has not settled, shockwave therapy and laser treatment for pain and inflammation are done in the office. PRP injections are another option, offered as a regenerative treatment with eligibility confirmed at your visit.
Lonestar Podiatry & Wound Care treats heel pain and plantar fasciitis for Rowlett patients at its Rockwall / Rowlett office, the Lake Pointe clinic at 6800 Heritage Pkwy, Suite 104, Rockwall, TX 75087. The practice’s second office, at 412 Village Dr, Suite 300, Plano, TX 75094, can be the easier stop if your day takes you toward Plano or Murphy. Either way, there is no need to drive into central Dallas to see a board-certified podiatrist. The service area also includes Rockwall, Garland, Sachse, Wylie, and Royse City.
Most patients do not need a referral, so you can call us directly. Most major insurance accepted, including Medicare. We will verify your benefits and explain your options.
To book, call (972) 643-8242 or schedule online. It helps to tell us how long your heel has hurt and when it hurts most.
