Subsequently, he pursued his Doctorate in Podiatric Medicine and Surgery at the California School of Podiatric Medicine at Samuel Merritt University in California. While he cherished his time in California, he was thrilled to relocate to his beloved state, Texas.
Dr. Asif Khan was raised in the metro Detroit area, and earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan, Dearborn. He then went on to earn his doctorate in podiatric medicine and surgery from California School of Podiatric Medicine at Samuel Merritt University in Oakland, CA.
Dr. Khan returned to Michigan to complete his residency in Podiatric Medicine and Surgery at Beaumont Health, where he served as Chief Resident his final year of training. He then went on to complete a prestigious fellowship at Beaumont Health in Diabetic Limb Salvage and Wound Care.

Ask for the earliest open slot if your foot is hurting. Same-day and next-day appointments are often available.
A board-certified podiatrist examines your foot or ankle, explains what is behind the pain and swelling, and walks you through your options, which can include in-office laser treatment.
*** How soon you can be seen depends on the schedule that day, and your eligibility and coverage are confirmed by our office for your specific condition.
The answers below cover what people raise most before trying laser treatment for foot or ankle pain and inflammation.
You can usually book directly. Depending on your plan or your foot problem, an extra step may come first, and the front desk can help you check. For most people, a referral is not part of the process.
Your first visit starts with an evaluation. A board-certified podiatrist looks at where the pain and swelling are coming from, explains what is going on, and lays out an individualized plan that can bring in laser treatment alongside other in-office options.
Most major insurance accepted, including Medicare. We will verify your benefits and explain your options. Before your first laser visit, our office checks whether your specific plan pays anything toward it.
The Ask A Question form on our site can be sent any time, and a staff member follows up on each note. Prefer a conversation? Dial (972) 643-8242 to reach the front desk during office hours. Either way, the treatment decision happens with your podiatrist after the evaluation, so you are never deciding alone.
For Rockwall patients, Lonestar Podiatry & Wound Care provides laser treatment for pain and inflammation in the foot and ankle as one of several in-office options its board-certified podiatrists use. Care begins with an evaluation by Dr. Christian Morrison or Dr. Asif Khan, and certified X-ray technicians on site let the doctor check the bone or joint in the office when imaging is needed. Your podiatrist then builds an individualized care plan. Depending on your condition, that plan may include laser therapy, custom orthotics, shockwave therapy for heel pain, PRP as a regenerative option, or an ultrasound-guided joint injection, and the practice offers each of these in-house. Results vary from person to person. Eligibility for any treatment depends on your condition and your insurance, and the office confirms both with you before treatment begins. Both doctors are board-certified by the American Board of Podiatric Medicine and hold hospital privileges at Medical City, Baylor, Texas Health, and Methodist.
The Rockwall office of Lonestar Podiatry & Wound Care, also called the Lake Pointe clinic, sits at 6800 Heritage Pkwy, Suite 104, Rockwall, TX 75087. It serves patients in Rockwall, Rowlett, Wylie, and Sachse who want specialist foot and ankle care in east DFW without a drive into central Dallas. The practice’s second office is at 412 Village Dr, Suite 300, in Plano, a shorter trip for people near Murphy, and both offices are part of the same practice led by board-certified podiatrists Dr. Christian Morrison and Dr. Asif Khan. The front office and care team speak Spanish, so your visit can be handled in either language from the first call. Same-day and next-day appointments are often available. The office works with most major insurance plans and will check your benefits for you, including whether your plan helps pay for laser treatment. Most patients do not need a referral. To book, call (972) 643-8242 or schedule online, and say whether Rockwall or Plano is easier for you.
